The Central Texas nonprofit community has responded enthusiastically to the news of Impact Austin’s upcoming Catalyst Grant pilot in 2015.
The Catalyst Grant was developed in response to feedback from numerous nonprofits as well as other progressive grant makers. Rather than supporting programs which serve clients directly, the Catalyst Grant funds are designed to strengthen or grow a nonprofit organization in order to improve its future performance, impact and sustainability in alignment with its mission and vision.
Nonprofits are welcoming news of this critical level of support which is often difficult to find. (Eligible nonprofits include those that have reached the finalist stage in our grant process, excluding current grant recipients.)
About twenty of the fifty eligible nonprofits attended a Workshop on December 3rd where the Grants Innovation team explained the new process and schedule for this different, non-programmatic type of grant.
One nonprofit Development Director remarked that, “I am so impressed with the manner in which Impact Austin has listened, researched and implemented some very forward thinking plans,” and another said, “I really appreciate your guidance and all of the hard work you do to make Austin a better community.”
Impact Austin is launching the Catalyst Grant pilot in the spirit of innovation and continuous improvement and with the desire to assure that our grant making has a lasting impact in the community.
