Unpaid internship; may qualify for college credit


Internship Description:

We are excited to offer a unique internship opportunity for college students interested in gaining practical experience in both event logistics and communications. As an Events and Communications Support Intern, you will have the chance to work on a variety of tasks related to event planning and communications, contributing to our organization's mission, and promoting our events and impact through various channels.

 

Responsibilities:

Our Events and Communications Intern will work hand-in-hand with our Philanthropy Operations Manager and Marketing Committee to:

  • Assist in planning and organizing events, including meetings and fundraisers.

  • Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and support event setup and teardown to ensure smooth execution.

  • Support the implementation and day-to-day management of our social media strategy including content creation and supporting member engagement.

  • Assist with the design and delivery of email marketing campaigns and newsletters.

  • Monitor social media trends, analyze performance metrics, and make suggestions to adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative marketing ideas, plan, and execute marketing campaigns and initiatives.

  • Assist the Executive Director, Philanthropy Operations Manager, and Marketing Committee in various tasks related to event and media promotion.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a college or university program, preferably with a focus on communications, digital media, event management, hospitality, or related fields.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn) and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva) are a plus.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Internship Description:

We are offering an unpaid internship opportunity for college students interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and administration. As an Operations Support Intern, you will contribute to the day-to-day functioning of our organization and support various projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including data entry, document management, and file organization.

  • Assist in organizing and executing events and meetings for our committees, working alongside various teams to ensure smooth communication and coordination.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of operational processes and procedures.

  • Assist in reviewing and updating databases, spreadsheets, and other records.

  • Provide general support and assistance to staff and committee members as needed.

  • Undertake research and analysis tasks to support decision-making and project planning.

  • Provide assistance to the Membership Committee, aiding in administrative tasks, member communication, and contributing to the smooth functioning of committee initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a college or university program, preferably with a focus on nonprofit management, business administration, or related fields.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Prior experience in nonprofit organizations is not required but is a plus.

  • Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information.
