Application Opens July 22; Information Session July 22
2020 has been a rough year so far. The disproportionate effects of the pandemic on communities of color, the killing of George Floyd, and the protests that followed have shined a light on the importance of combating racism and providing resources to community leaders and organizations who are leading the efforts to address systemic issues. As Impact Austin Executive Director Christina Gorczynski said in her recent blog post, “Impact Austin commits to following the lead of our Community Partners. We will trust their keen insights and channel our resources, education and connections to support and uplift the people doing the hard work, often unheard and unseen.” This year’s Social Innovation Grant will help to fund that critical work.
On July 22, 2020, applications open for Impact Austin’s second annual Social Innovation Grant (SIG). The Social Innovation Grant funds a collaborative (two or more entities) working together on a high-impact project or initiative aimed at advancing equity for women and/or girls of color. This year’s SIG award will be a one year grant in the amount of $40,000.
If you are part of - or know - a collaborative that wants to apply for an Impact Austin Social Innovation Grant, please attend/recommend our virtual nonprofit information session, also on July 22, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Registration for the information session closes on July 21. This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Impact Austin grant process, particularly as it pertains to the SIG. Additional information on the Social Innovation Grant can be found on the Impact Austin website.
