Introducing Our New Members

We are kicking our 15th anniversary year off right by highlighting some amazing women that we know you will want to get to know better. We asked them three basic questions – How did you find out about Impact Austin and what inspired you to join, what is your short and sweet biography, and what do you think might surprise or interest your new friends about you? Here are their answers!

Meet Hilary Bellm and say hello the next time you see her!

Impact Austin Member Hilary Bellm “My friend, Heather McElhaney, invited me to learn more about Impact Austin at a gathering at her home. Rebecca Powers and a couple of other founding members spoke and one of the previous grant recipients (Partnerships for Children) told their story. I was intrigued by the idea and it came at a time in my life when I was looking to get more involved in the broader Austin community so I thought this would be a great way to do so.”

”I'm a Georgia native who came to Austin 7 years ago with stops along the way in New Jersey, Venezuela, California, Ireland, and Luxembourg. I love travel, people, and cultures.  As a former strategy consultant, I am very good at analyzing a problem and giving you bullet point recommendations. I currently spend most of my time managing the household (twin boys in 5th grade and daughter in 1st grade) and volunteering in our school and in the community.”

“I have traveled to 42 countries and speak Spanish (I used to be fluent but can't quite say that anymore).

Impact Austin Member Kimberly WengerMeet Kimberly Wenger and say “Hi!” the next time you see her.

“My mom is involved with the collective giving organization in Jacksonville, FL, where my parents live, and she met a few of the board members for Impact Austin at a conference in Jacksonville. I had heard so many great things about what she has been doing with the Women's Giving Alliance and wanted to get involved in something similar in Austin for a while. She sent me the names of the people she met from Austin and I joined within a few weeks!”

“I am a software marketing manager and a lover of new challenges and experiences. I love to travel, my longest loved sport is water skiing, and I live for summers - (So I can ski!) I recently got back into golf and volunteer at the Austin Humane Society to help walk and train dogs. My family's motto is "Until Further Notice...Celebrate Everything."

“I lived in the Philippines during elementary school and attended an international school with 62 different nationalities. That experience gave me the travel bug - only one more continent to visit (Antarctica) and many to return to!”
